That’s where we come in. We work with these fishermen to give their homes a second life. Whether we purchase the syrma outright or agree to long-term leases, we carefully transform them into understated, luxury suites for travelers who value authenticity and charm. In return, the fishermen receive much-needed financial support, earning around 25% of the income per reservation.

Fisherman’s houses, or “syrma,” are a beautiful reminder of Greece’s coastal heritage. These simple, colorful structures—ground floors for storing boats during winter storms, upper floors as cozy family homes—dot the waterfronts of islands like Milos and Kimolos. But with overfishing making their traditional livelihoods unsustainable, many fishermen have had to close up their syrma, leaving their boats unused and their families struggling.
It’s a win-win: travelers get to stay in these iconic seaside retreats, and the families who’ve called them home for generations can continue to benefit from their legacy.
